The Year in Racing for Tranquility Lake Farms

Our horses love to race and they have really brought their best to 2025. The 11 thoroughbreds we have racing hit the board 25 times out of 47 starts, finishing in the top three over 50% of the time. I couldn't be prouder of how things came together. Our trainers placed our horses really well throughout the year—putting them where they had the best chance to succeed and show what they could do. We even had a winner at Saratoga, which is always special. Here are a few racing highlights for the year:

Capitol Hill racing at Belmont @ The Big A

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill is part of a great family that we have had going back to his namesake second dam Tranquility Lake. Capitol Hill’s first race this year was on dirt and it was a bit of a disaster, he was trotting home when everyone else was done. He came in last with a speed figure of 25. To put this in context, his highest speed figure is 106. So we tried him on grass his next time out and he won. Capitol Hill is all about the turf.

Bill Mott put Capitol Hill in the Manila Stakes at Saratoga on July 4th, and he gave us a huge second, losing by a neck to Zulu Kingdom. The way he runs is so exciting, he's usually at the back of the pack and then flies in that last eighth of a mile. That closing kick carried him all the way home on November 1st at Aqueduct, where he angled out six wide in the stretch and was up in the final forty yards, pulling away at the wire for his second win. From a 25 to graded stakes-placed to a winner—what a year it has been for this special horse.

Fun Fact: Capitol Hill is Resilience’s younger brother. Resilience brought TLF to the Kentucky Derby in 2024. His full sister, Seneca Falls, is gearing up at Wavertree to begin her racing career.

Necessity has had quite a year in 2025

Necessity

This filly by Constitution out of Secret Keeper (by Into Mischief) showed real determination throughout the year. Necessity started her year with a win at Oaklawn Park in January. Then she ran in the Honeybee Stakes and placed fourth and earned points to go to the Kentucky Oaks. When her next race was lackluster in the Fantasy Stakes, we decided to give her a break. Necessity was beyond ready to come back and placed second by a nose at Churchill with the next horse trailing her by 13 and 3/4 lengths. This tough horse saved her best for last. At Churchill Downs in November, she put it all together and won by four lengths.

Fun Fact: Necessity and Table Flirt are what we affectionately call sister cousins (their dams are full sisters and they are both by the same sure).

Beauty Reigns and Emily at Saratoga

Beauty Reigns

Beauty Reigns has had a remarkable year, placing in three graded stakes including a third in the Grade 1 Test Stakes at Saratoga—a huge race that really proved what she's capable of. She also finished second in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes and third in the Jersey Girl Stakes, all on the dirt where she's most fierce. Trained by Bill Mott, this filly by Into Mischief out of Ilsa (by Tapit) won her very first race as a two-year-old, and we knew right then she had serious speed.

Beauty Reigns is a sprinter through and through, preferring the shorter distances of six to seven furlongs where she can really use that early speed. After running in the Test at Saratoga in August, we're giving her some time to recharge. She's three turning four now, and we think she will have a strong four-year-old campaign ahead of her. What makes Beauty Reigns even more special is that she comes from an exceptional family—her third dam is Sweet Life, who was the 2009 Broodmare of the Year thanks to her two daughters Life is Sweet and Sweet Catomine. This kind of female family has deep roots and we are excited to continue to cultivate it.

Lennilu loves to race

Lennilu

Lennilu has been one of our most exciting horses this year taking us from Keeneland to Gulfstream to Royal Ascot outside London and the Breeder’s Cup in Del Mar, California. We own her in partnership which has been a really fun experience. Lennilu is a tough little filly who has won three stakes races—the Leinster Hollywood Beach Stakes, the Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes, and the Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies Stakes. She also placed third in the Group 3 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. Lennilu was just awarded the Co-Two-Year-Old Filly Winner at the 6th Annual FHBPA. She's just a really cool horse, so fast and spicy, and she travels incredibly well for how much fire she has. Lennilu has proven herself on both sides of the Atlantic and on grass and dirt. We can’t wait to see what her three-year-old year holds.

Fun Fact: We purchased her dam Lu Lu’s Pom Pom out of a July digital sale and are breeding her to Quality Road. Can’t wait to see this family continue to develop.

Table Flirt and Junior Alvarado trotting home after their win at Saratoga

Table Flirt

Table Flirt has been the picture of consistency this year with three wins under her belt. She broke her maiden at Gulfstream in March, then came back to win an allowance at Saratoga in June and another at Churchill Downs in September. She has stepped into stakes company three times and has been in the mix but not on the board (yet). Table Flirt always shows up, tries her best, and comes home proud of herself. Exctied to see what she can do next year.

Victory Way had his career high-speed win in 2025

Victory Way

Victory Way capped off his 2025 season with a big win at Aqueduct on December 12th, earning a 111 speed figure. He is a 5-year-old gelding by City of Light and truly hitting his stride this year, winning that race by 1¾ lengths as the 2-1 favorite. Victory is consistent, kind and super fast. He is ridden beautifully by his consistent jockey Jose Lezcano and trained by Bill Mott. That late-season win, along with his career-high speed figure, suggests Victory Way is heading into an exciting 2026.
